Go-Kart Specialist Job Description

Minimum Qualifications:

Training and experience in the mechanical aspects of a go-kart engine
Ability to teach safe driving skills to campers of all ages
Ability to set up a go-kart track, order and repair equipment
Ability to maintain go-kart fleet in good working order throughout the summer
Good character, integrity, adaptability, enthusiasm, sense of humor, and patience
Must possess a high school diploma or be at least 18 years of age and possess a valid
California Drivers License

General Responsibility: To teach and help coordinate Sierra Canyon’s go-kart program,
maintaining standards that lead to a safe quality program

Specific Responsibility:
Set up go-kart area prior to camp.
Write safety regulations for the go-kart activity area and review them with staff and campers.
Teach and monitor proper use of go-karts.
Engage campers and staff in enjoyable camp go-karting activities.Provide opportunities for the group so that each individual experiences success during camp.
Conduct daily check of equipment and track for safety, cleanliness, and good repair.Provide opportunities for discussion of individual or group problems or concerns.
Make necessary go-kart repairs and replace fluids as needed.
Conduct initial and end-of-season go-kart inventory of supplies.Carry out established roles in enforcing camp safety regulations.
Assist with overall camp activities regarding go-kart activity on camp theme days.Assist in teaching or leading and activity as assigned.
Evaluate current season and staff, and make recommendations for equipment, supplies, and program for following season.Set a good example for campers and others including cleanliness, punctuality, sharing clean-up, sportsmanship, and table manners.
Be an active staff member among campers other than at activity area.Follow camp rules and regulations pertaining to smoking, alcoholic beverages, and illegal drugs.
Set a good example for campers and others including cleanliness, punctuality, sharing, clean-up, and sportsmanship.Encourage respect for personal property, camp equipment, and facilities.
