Minimum
Qualifications:

Training
and experience in Dramatic and Creative
Arts |
 |
Ability to teach creative
skills and activities in Drama |

Ability to set up Drama
area and program |
 |
Good character, integrity,
adaptability, enthusiasm, sense of humor,
and patience |
 |
Must possess a high school
diploma or be at least 18 years of age |
General
Responsibility: To plan, direct
and lead Sierra Canyon’s Drama program.
Specific
Responsibility:
 |
1. Set up
Drama area during staff training week. |
 |
2. Teach staff their
responsibilities in Drama during staff training. |
 |
3. Teach and monitor
proper use of supplies and equipment. |
 |
4. Engage campers and
staff in enjoyable camp drama activities. |
 |
5. Conduct initial and
end-of-season drama inventory of supplies. |
 |
6. Assist with overall
camp activities regarding Drama on camp
theme days. |
 |
7. Evaluate current season
and staff, and make recommendations for
equipment, supplies, and program for following
season. |
 |
8. Be an active staff
member among campers other than at activity
area. |
 |
9. Set a good example
for campers and others including cleanliness,
punctuality, sharing, clean-up, and sportsmanship. |
 |
10. Follow camp rules
and regulations pertaining to smoking, alcoholic
beverages, and illegal drugs. |
 |
11. Encourage respect
for personal property, camp equipment, and
facilities. |
 |
12. These are not the
only duties to be performed. Some duties
may be reassigned and other duties may be
assigned as required. |
Essential Functions:
 |
Ability to
communicate and work with groups participating
(age and skill level), and provide necessary
instructions to campers. |
 |
Abilities to observe
camper behavior, assess its appropriateness,
enforce appropriate safety regulations and
emergency procedures, and apply appropriate
behavior management techniques. |
 |
Visual and auditory ability
to identify and respond to environmental
and other hazards related to the site and
activity. |
 |
Must be able to assist
campers in the prevention of and in emergency
(fire, evacuation, illness, or injury);
observe loading and unloading of buses and
vans; and possess the strength and endurance
required to maintain constant supervision
of campers. |
