Sierra Canyon Day Camp takes pride in having a professional and enthusiastic staff. Our role models have many years of experience working with children. All Counselors are trained in First Aid & CPR (Additionally we have a full time certified nurse on site during the camp day). Sierra Canyon Day Camp conducts a Live Scan background check on all staff over the age of 18 prior to employment.

Adam Horwitz - Email
(Executive Camp Director) Adam began at Sierra Canyon Day Camp in 1986 as a CIT. He has previously held camp positions as Counselor and Specialty Camps Director prior to becoming an Executive Director in 1998. Adam also serves on the senior management team of Sierra Canyon School. Adam received his BA from the University of Arizona.

David Sobel - Email
(Executive Director, Finance) David began at Sierra Canyon working in the classroom in 1997. He serves on the senior management team of Sierra Canyon School and handles all financial aspects of Sierra Canyon School & Day Camp. David received his BA from University California, Santa Barbara and his MA in Business Administration from California State University, Northridge.

Jenny Hernandez - Email
(Unit 2 Director) Jenny came to Sierra Canyon School in August of 2000 as an Assistant Teacher, and in 2004 began teaching Spanish in the Middle School. She started at Sierra Canyon Day Camp in 2001. She held positions of Counselor, Teen Camp Counselor, Assistant Director, and CIT Director. Prior to Sierra Canyon Jenny spent a year as Assistant Director of Residence Life at Mount St. Mary's where she was in charge of discipline, room assignments and the Residence Hall Association. Currently, she is an Upper School Spanish teacher and the 8th grade Class Advisor. Jenny received a B.A. in History and Psychology from Mount St. Mary's College and a Masters degree in Secondary Education from University of Phoenix.

Kim Udelf - Email
(Unit 1 Director) Kim began working at Sierra Canyon Day Camp in the summer of 2001. She held positions as a counselor, bus counslor, and Arts and Crafts specialist until she became the Unit 1 Director in 2006. In addition to working at the camp, Kim has also been a part of the Sierra Canyon School family since 2001. She has worked as a 3rd and 4th grade assistant teacher, and she is currently a 5th grade assistant teacher. Kim also teaches a 9th grade confirmation class at Temple Ahavat Shalom in Northridge.

Erin Anderson – Email
(Admissions Director) Erin began at Sierra Canyon in 2001. She held positions of Counselor, Directors’ Assistant and became the Admissions Director in 2004. During the school year, Erin works as the Lower School Admissions Assistant in addition to her job as Camp Admissions Director. Erin received her BA in Child Development from Cal State University Northridge.

Kevin Casey – Email
(Specialist Director) Kevin began at Sierra Canyon Day Camp as a CIT in 1997. He created the Movie Magic camp activity in 2000 and ran the program as a specialist until 2004. In 2005, Kevin became the first director of our Movie Making Camp. This is Kevin's second year as the Specialist Director. During the school year, Kevin serves as Director of Sierra Canyon School’s Broadcast Department where he produces the Sierra Canyon Television show and teaches computers and filmmaking classes. Kevin received BA's in English and Film Studies from Boston College.

(CIT Director) Ray has been with us for 5 years.

Garrett Crosby – Email
(Themes and Entertainment Director) Garrett has been at Sierra Canyon Day Camp as a camper and employee for 16 straight summers. He began working at the camp in 2003 as a C.I.T. and continued to work his way up until becoming the director of Themes and Entertainment in the conclusion of 2008. Besides creating and managing our exciting theme days and entertainment at camp, Garrett is also in charge of our Overnights and is one of the co directors of our exciting Pre-Camp. Garrett is currently finishing up his BA in Music Composition at Cal State University Northridge with an emphasis in Child Psychology, and plans to gain his MA in Film Scoring from The University of Southern California in the near future.

Jaime Gonzalez – Email
(Off-Site Camp Director) Jaime has been at Sierra Canyon since 2003, when she began working as our Karate specialist. Since then she has held many positions including assistant director and off-site camp director. This will be her third year leading our adventure and teens camp programs and she is looking forward to another great summer. In 2008, she received her degree in Liberal Studies from Cal State Northridge and she also has a black belt in Tang Soo Do.

Wes Graft – Email
(Directors' Assistant) Wes has worked at Sierra Canyon for 7 years. He has served as a CIT, a Counselor, and now as the Directors' Assistant. He ran our 2009 Pre-Camp program with fellow director Garrett Crosby. During the school year, Wes works in our Extended Day Care program where he is currently completing his 5th year of service.
